Levi Hospital’s outpatient rehab services offers outpatient physical rehabilitation (providing physical therapy, occupational therapy and sports medicine and houses a 3,000 square ft. gym and a 50’ x 20’ pool filled with thermal waters from Hot Springs National Park. Rehabilitation aids patients in recovery from strokes, surgery, accidents and sports-related injuries and treatment to help ease symptoms of various diseases including osteoporosis, lupus and arthritis. Levi also provides a student athlete sports medicine outreach program in area schools by providing a Certified Athletic Trainer on the sidelines at practices and games. Levi has two locations to serve you. In addition to its location on 300 Prospect Avenue, Levi has a satellite outpatient rehab therapy clinic at the YMCA.

Levi Hospital is the only place in the world that a person can get physical or occupational therapy in the Hot Springs National Park Thermal Water.

Outpatient Rehab

Friendly and Upbeat Staff help our patients “get back on their feet” from joint replacement (knees, hips, etc.), car accidents, strokes, arthritis, surgery and other injuries through physical, occupational and Hot Springs National Park Thermal Water which is available in our therapy pool.

• Physical Therapy
  
  Your personalized treatment plan will be developed by our physical therapists to help you improve muscle tone, mobility, balance and endurance. Our physical therapists use the most modern treatment and equipment to help you regain maximum functional ability. To help you achieve your goals, Levi uses the administration of heat, cold, massage, electrical stimulation and /or exercise.

• Occupational Therapy
  
  The goal of Occupational Therapy is to enable an individual to carry out their activities of daily living, which include those performed at work, home, school and the community, as independently as possible.
  
  Following a thorough evaluation, which includes an assessment of physical function, as well as cognitive and daily living skills, if appropriate, an occupational therapist will tailor a treatment plan dedicated to restoring your maximum functional ability.

  The tremendous benefits that are often associated with aquatic therapy are available through your referral to Levi Outpatient Rehabilitation Therapy Services. The 50’ X 20’ Rehab pool is filled with thermal waters from Hot Springs National Park thanks to an arrangement with the government during Levi Hospital’s early years.
  
  Levi’s Thermal Water Program is designed to accommodate patients with acute and post-operative back conditions, arthritis, total joint replacements, sports injuries and other diagnoses that benefit from less stressful exercise.
  
  Some benefits of the aquatic program include: decreased weight bearing on the joints, reduction in pain and muscle spasms, increased range of motion, strength and endurance, enhanced relaxation and rapid recovery.
• Balance / Fall Prevention
  
  Falls are the leading cause of injury among older adults and the most common cause of nonfatal injuries seen in emergency departments (CDC 2006). One out of every three people age 65 and older falls each year (Hornbrook 1994; Hausdorff 2001). Levi Hospital has a special program to help prevent falls. Our physical therapists will work with you on exercises and our special balance machine to help you maintain your balance.
• Sports Medicine
  
  Levi’s Sports Medicine Clinic provides physical therapy services for all age groups. For the professional, collegiate, and high school athlete to the weekend warrior or senior athlete, individuals of all ages can benefit from this service. Regardless of the cause or the nature of your condition, the Levi Hospital Sports Medicine Clinic helps you overcome your injury and achieve your goals. We work with both youth and adult patients to:

Serving Our Community’s Students

Keeping Kids Safe . . .

Levi’s Sports Medicine Student Athletic Outreach Program provides Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC) to junior high and high school students during practices and games to aid in injury prevention and treatment. In the year 2000, Levi discovered this as an unmet need for our student athletes and began providing this service. Levi’s goal is to make sure there is a continuity of care from the moment the students are injured to the moment they are able to get back to playing sports. Levi also gives a free educational clinic to coaches every year to train them on safety procedures for their athletes.

Osteoporosis Testing and Treatment

The Levi Osteoporosis Clinic offers a complete program of osteoporosis prevention, testing and treatment. Testing for Osteoporosis is painless and takes only a few minutes. At Levi Hospital the test is done by a Radiological Technologist trained in Bone Densitometry.
